The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait led a delegation of Kuwaiti representatives from the government, business and media sectors to attend the Opening Ceremony of Grand Halal Bangkok 2026
On 15 July 2026, Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Minister Counsellor, and Ms. Kanyawee Srikulwong, Second Secretary, led a delegation of Kuwaiti representatives from the government, business and media sectors to attend the Opening Ceremony of Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 and meet with businesses from the field of Halal products and innovations at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), organised under the theme “Gateway to the Global Halal Economy.”
During the Opening Ceremony, His Eminence Mr. Arun Boonchom, the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, graciously delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 as the platform linking businesses in Halal sector and international partners to promote trade cooperation based on transparency, compliance with religious principles and quality, building on the 77 years of trust in Thailand’s Halal standard.
In addition, H.E. Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palarae, Secretary General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT) also underscored the objectives of Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 to promote trade and collaboration between Thai businesses and international investors to advance the comprehensive development of Halal sector – including in food, wellness and tourism industries – as CICOT aimed for Thailand to become the largest Halal product exporter in the future.
On the same day, the delegation also visited Thai Craft zone in Iconsiam and attended a dinner hosted by Mr. Ahman Madadam, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dubai Office, to discuss the cooperation on tourism between Thailand and Kuwait.
