Attention: Starting from 1 January 2025, any foreign national with a Civil ID in Kuwait who wishes to apply for a Thai visa must submit their application, supporting documents, and pay the application fee through the new online Thai e-Visa platform at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/.
- It is no longer required for visa applicants to submit their passports and original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait.
Visa Exemption: Kuwaiti citizens are entitled to visa exemption for the purposes of tourism and short-term business for up to 60 days. It is possible to apply for an extension of stay at any Immigration Bureau in Thailand (http://www.immigration.go.th/) where you may be permitted to stay for another 30-day period.
e-Visa Application Process & Guidelines
- Go to Thai e-Visa Official Website at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/.
- Create an account.
This account can be used for up to 10 applications simultaneously and for future applications.
- Fill in the application form.
Passport: Upload a clear image of the information page.
The passport/travel document must be valid for at least 6 months from the travel date.
Photo: Upload a high-resolution photo.
The photo must be taken within the last 6 months (JPG/JPEG format, at least 300 PPI, size not exceeding 3 MB).
* Carefully review the information. Applicants must provide correct personal information as shown in their passport.
The Embassy cannot edit or correct applicants' information. The application will be canceled if the personal information is incorrect.
* Visa payments are non-refundable.
- Upload documents according to the type of visa requested. The following example is for a Tourist visa:
“Document indicating current location” = Civil ID
“Travel booking confirmation” = Two-way plane tickets
“Proof of accommodation” = Hotel booking or invitation letter from family/friends in Thailand
* The Embassy reserves the right to request more supporting documents from the applicants.
- Pay the visa fee online through the e-Visa system. Successful payment is required to complete the application process.
- Wait for visa processing. Please note that the process will take at least 3 working days, if the supporting documents are complete. Applicants should apply in advance and allow at least 10 working days before the travel date for potential document requests or interviews.
- After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to applicants. The applicant is kindly requested to print a hard copy of the confirmation email to be presented at the point of departure and at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival in Thailand.
All applicants are strongly advised to carefully read the user manual or watch user manual video clips prior to starting the application process.
Important Note
- Foreign nationals in Thailand or outside of Kuwait cannot apply for e-Visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait.
- Passport/travel document must have at least 6 months validity from travel date.
- Applicants must provide the correct information (names, e-mail address and passport numbers).
The information cannot be changed once the application is submitted. Visa payments are non-refundable.
- Visa processing will take at least 3 working days, if the supporting documents are complete.
- The Embassy will not provide any information regarding the status of visa applications via telephone/email.
