สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ คูเวต จัดพิธีมอบหนังสือเกี่ยวกับประเทศไทยเพื่อจัดตั้ง “Thailand Corner” ณ หอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวต

นางอุไรวรรณ กูร์โตด์ อุปทูตรักษาการฯ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ คูเวต เป็นประธานในพิธีมอบหนังสือเกี่ยวกับประเทศไทย จำนวน ๑๐๐ เล่ม เพื่อจัดตั้ง “Thailand Corner” ณ หอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวต (National Library of Kuwait) โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากมูลนิธิไทย (Thailand Foundation) ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการเผยแพร่ความรู้เกี่ยวกับประเทศไทยและวัฒนธรรมไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมความเข้าใจอันดีและกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศไทยกับนานาประเทศ

หนังสือจำนวน ๑๐๐ เล่ม ที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้มอบให้กับหอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวตในครั้งนี้ครอบคลุมเนื้อหาหลากหลายสาขา อาทิ ศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม วรรณกรรม และประวัติศาสตร์ไทย ทั้งในภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาอาหรับ ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงเอกลักษณ์ความเป็นไทยและมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลายของประเทศไทย ทั้งนี้ หนังสือดังกล่าวจะถูกนำไปจัดแสดงในบริเวณ Diplomatic Hall ซึ่ง National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) อยู่ระหว่างการจัดตั้งภายในหอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวต เพื่อเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมจากนานาประเทศ โดยการจัดตั้ง Thailand Corner ณ หอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวต จะช่วยเปิดโอกาสให้ประชาชนชาวคูเวตได้เข้าถึงองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับประเทศไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมความสนใจในการศึกษาและแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ด้านวัฒนธรรมระหว่างกัน

ในโอกาสดังกล่าว อุปทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถึงความสำคัญของหนังสือ ในฐานะสื่อที่ช่วยเชื่อมโยงผู้คนต่างวัฒนธรรม เปิดมุมมอง และสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์ ประเพณี และวิถีชีวิตของกันและกัน พร้อมมีความปรารถนาว่า หนังสือเหล่านี้จะเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการเรียนรู้และสร้างแรงบันดาลใจแก่ผู้อ่านชาวคูเวต อันจะนำไปสู่ความเข้าใจอันดีและมิตรภาพที่แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้นระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ

การจัดตั้ง Thailand Corner ณ หอสมุดแห่งชาติคูเวต ยังมีความสำคัญเป็นพิเศษในปี ๒๕๖๙ ซึ่งเป็นปีครบรอบ ๖๓ ปีแห่งการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับคูเวต ซึ่งเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมที่จะช่วยส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาคประชาชนของไทยและคูเวต ผ่านการเผยแพร่ความรู้และการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรม เพื่อเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของความสัมพันธ์อันยั่งยืนระหว่างประเทศไทยกับคูเวตต่อไป

The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait Organized the Books Handover Ceremony for the Establishment of the “Thailand Corner” at the National Library of Kuwait

Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Chargée d’Affaires, a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait, presided over a ceremony to present 100 books on Thailand to the National Library of Kuwait for the establishment of the “Thailand Corner”. The donation was supported by the Thailand Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting goodwill and friendship between Thailand and the rest of the world.

The 100 books donated by the Royal Thai Embassy cover a wide range of subjects, including Thai art, culture, literature and history, in both English and Arabic. They showcase Thailand’s unique identity and rich cultural heritage. The books will be displayed in the Diplomatic Hall, which the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) is in the process of establishing at the National Library of Kuwait. The hall is intended to serve as a learning resource on the arts and cultures of countries around the world. The establishment of the Thailand Corner will provide the Kuwaiti public with greater access to knowledge about Thailand and encourage interest in studying and exchanging knowledge about each other’s cultures.

In her opening remarks, the Chargée d’Affaires also highlighted the importance of books as a medium for connecting people from different cultural backgrounds, broadening perspectives and fostering an understanding of one another’s history, traditions and ways of life. She expressed her hope that the books would inspire Kuwaiti readers and serve as a starting point for further learning, thereby fostering greater mutual understanding and closer friendship between the peoples of Thailand and Kuwait.

The establishment of the Thailand Corner at the National Library of Kuwait is particularly significant in 2026, which marks the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Kuwait. It represents another initiative by the Embassy to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries through knowledge and cultural exchange, laying an important foundation for a lasting and enduring relationship between Thailand and Kuwait.
