On 21 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait welcomed the delegation from the Thai Trade Center Dubai, led by Mr. Pitichai Ratananaka, Director of the Thai Trade Center Dubai. The delegation travelled to Kuwait to attend the 24th International Gold & Jewellery Exhibition and to formally award “Thai SELECT 2025” certifications to local Thai restaurants.

On this occasion, Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Chargée d'Affaires a.i., received the delegation at the Royal Thai Embassy. Both sides held discussions on ways to promote Thailand-Kuwait economic cooperation and explored emerging business opportunities in the Kuwaiti market, particularly for high-potential Thai exports that are popular among Kuwait consumers such as gems and jewellery, food and agricultural products, as well as auto parts and construction materials – sectors in which Thailand has a strong and internationally recognized manufacturing base.

The Chargée d’Affaires also attended the 24th International Gold & Jewellery Exhibition at the Kuwait International Fairground to visit the exhibition booths of five Thai exhibitors, namely: (1) Hatai Gems & Jewelry Co., Ltd. (2) La Molla Co., Ltd. (3) All Gems Jewelry Co., Ltd. (4) CNG International Co., Ltd. and (5) Dermond. Additionally, the Chargée d’Affaires and the Director of the Thai Trade Center Dubai co-presented the “Thai SELECT” certifications to four Thai restaurants in Kuwait, namely: (1) Oriental Cuisine (2) Phuket Thai Restaurant (3) Pattaya Beach Restaurant and (4) Sabaidee Thai Restaurant. During these activities, both officials gathered valuable feedback from entrepreneurs regarding consumer preferences and trade challenges. This information will be instrumental in developing effective strategic plans to further promote Thai exports to the Kuwaiti market.

This visit by the Thai Trade Center Dubai underscores the Thai Government’s commitment to advancing proactive economic diplomacy, strengthening trade cooperation, and creating opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to expand their business presence in the GCC region in an effective and sustainable manner.
