On 13 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Songchai Chaipatiyut, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand, met with H.E. Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of Kuwait.

On this occasion, both sides also exchanged views on advancing the negotiation of pending bilateral agreements, building on the outcomes of the first Thailand–Kuwait Political Consultation, hosted by Thailand in December 2024 in Bangkok. The Ambassador also expressed his appreciation for Kuwait’s efforts to ensure the well-being of Thai nationals amidst the ongoing tensions in the region.
