On 27 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy co-hosted “ASEAN Night” with the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait – ACK at Jumeirah Mesillah Hotel, Kuwait, to celebrate the 50^th year anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN. H.E. Khaled Sulaiman Al-Jarallah, Deputy Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait, as the Guest of Honour, delivered a speech emphasizing the strong relationship between ASEAN and the GCC.  The event featured DVD presentation on ASEAN, the visit to ASEAN booths, where ASEAN cultural and tourism materials were displayed and exhibited, ASEAN Embassies’ cultural performances and showcase of ASEAN traditional costumes. Apart from local food, each ASEAN member countries served the guests with traditional food and for Thailand, Prawn Tom Yum and Pad Thai were a big hit. There were around 400 guests attended the event, among them were diplomatic corps, high ranking officials from Kuwait and private sectors.
