On 13 January 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait participated in the “Phuket Roadshow to Kuwait 2026”, organised by the Phuket Tourist Association in collaboration with the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, at Crowne Plaza Kuwait. The opening ceremony was officiated by Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Chargée d'Affaires a.i., together with Mr. Thaneth Tantipiriyakij, President of the Phuket Tourist Association, who jointly delivered welcoming remarks.

Phuket Roadshow to Kuwait 2026 aimed to present the tourism potential of Phuket province to Kuwaiti tourism operators and travellers, while further strengthening Phuket’s positioning as a world-class destination with high safety standards, well equipped to meet the needs of family travel, wellness tourism, and premium lifestyle segments.

The programme featured a tourism market briefing and presentations on Phuket’s tourism products and services, as well as business matching sessions between Thai and Kuwaiti tourism operators, with the objective of fostering long-term cooperation between the private sectors of both countries. It also featured a lucky draw, with prizes presented to Kuwaiti participants. The event was attended by more than 120 participants, including representatives from government agencies, leading airlines (Jazeera Airways and Emirates), travel agencies, media partners, and tourism operators from both Thailand and Kuwait. Among the distinguished attendees were Ms. Athari Al Saleh, representing the Ministry of Information on behalf of Mr. Osama Hamad Al-Makhyal, Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Affairs of the Ministry of Information of Kuwait, and Mr. Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways.

On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires also highlighted the significance of the “Phuket Roadshow to Kuwait 2026”, which marked the first official visit of the Phuket Tourist Association to Kuwait. The event was also recognised as an important opportunity to further strengthen the close and friendly relations between Thailand and Kuwait, which have now spanned over six decades, through the advancement of economic cooperation, the deepening of private sector partnerships, and the promotion of people-to-people and cultural exchange through tourism.
