On 28 September 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait organized “Thai Street Food Festival” at the Embassy. The event aimed to promote awareness about the Thai cuisine and trust in Thai food products which are available in Kuwait in great variety. On this occasion, a great number of guests from the diplomatic community, international organizations, media agencies and businesses attended the festival.
Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Chargée d'Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait, presided over the opening ceremony. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of street food as an important part of Thai culture. She also invited guests to join the cooking demonstration and tasting of multiple Thai dishes including Tom Yum soup which was recognized as UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2024.
The event featured a range of activities including cooking demonstration, tasting of Thai street food and desserts, and games about Thai culture, tourist attractions and food. In addition, the Embassy also partnered with Lulu Hypermarket to showcase and provide samples of Thai products available in Kuwait.
“Thai Street Food Festival” was part of the Embassy’s commitment to bring to Kuwait authentic flavours and products which are known for affordability and high quality. The Embassy hopes that this festival has allowed the attendees and Kuwait society to experience Street Food culture which is a vital part of everyday life for Thai people and invites everyone to Thailand to see this rich culinary culture for themselves.
