Thai Delegation Attended the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Kuwait
On 11 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador of Thailand, attended the Opening Ceremony of the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held in Kuwait. The event brought together delegates from National Olympic Committees and international sporting organizations across the Asian region.
The Thai delegation was led by Mr. Chaiyapak Siriwat, Vice President of the OCA, Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), President of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), and OCA Executive Board Member, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Chaiwat Chotima, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Thailand Boxing Association attended the Conference.
On this occasion, Ambassador Ekapol Poolpipat hosted a welcome dinner at the Ambassador’s Residence in honour of the Thai delegation, expressing appreciation for their significant roles and dedication in advancing Thailand’s international sports diplomacy and enhancing regional cooperation through sports in Asia.
The OCA General Assembly serves as a vital platform for promoting international collaboration, upholding Olympic values in the region, and setting strategic directions for future major sporting events, including upcoming editions of the Asian Games.
The Royal Thai Embassy continues to support Thailand’s active engagement in international sports initiatives and to strengthen bilateral relations with the State of Kuwait as well as with the broader Asian sporting community.
