On 26 May 2026, Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Minister Counsellor, and Mr. Dhanaphatra Chuenarom, Second Secretary, led a delegation of Kuwaiti business representatives to attend a luncheon hosted jointly for business delegations from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait by Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, at Novotel Bangkok IMPACT.

In her welcoming remarks, DG Urasa welcomed the business delegations from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and underscored the importance of the Middle East as one of Thailand’s key economic partners. She also highlighted the vital role of the private sector in advancing trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and countries in the region.

On the same day, the delegation held discussions with Dr. Kitsana Vachekrilas, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, at the VIP Lounge of THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen trade cooperation between Thailand and Kuwait, enhance connectivity between the business communities of the two countries, and discussed a potential framework for the establishment of the Thai-Kuwait Chamber of Commerce (TKCC) as an important mechanism for promoting long-term economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the private sectors of Thailand and Kuwait.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026 and met with Thai entrepreneurs and exporters to explore business opportunities and prospects for increasing imports of Thai food and beverage products into the Kuwaiti market.
