Handover Ceremony of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait and Iftar Dinner

On 26 March 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted the handover ceremony of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK) at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. The event marked the transition of the chairmanship from H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador of Thailand, who served as ACK Chairman from October 2024 to March 2025, to H.E. Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, Ambassador of Vietnam.

On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador Ekapol Poolpipat underscored the significance of cooperation within ACK as a vital platform for consultation and mutual support. He highlighted ACK’s role in strengthening ASEAN-Kuwait relations and fostering closer bilateral cooperation among ASEAN member states. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti side reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing its partnership with ASEAN and expressed its aspiration to become an ASEAN Development Partner in the future.

H.E. the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to ACK members for their unity and commitment in working under the spirit of ASEAN and the strong bond of friendship. Upon assuming the ACK chairmanship, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang reaffirmed his dedication to upholding ASEAN principles and organizing activities to further strengthen ACK cooperation. Following the handover ceremony, the Embassy hosted an Iftar Dinner to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan with ACK members and working group.

The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Dr.Zubaydzoda Zubaydullo, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan; H.E. Mr. Zhang Jianwei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China; and H.E. Mr. Park Chong-Suk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea.
