End-of-Mission Farewell Messages of H.E. Songchai Chaipatiyut, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the State of Kuwait
30 September 2026
Dear colleagues and friends in Kuwait,
As I come to the conclusion of my diplomatic mission in this country that I have come to know and appreciate deeply, I would like to firstly take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, and the leadership of the State of Kuwait for the steadfast support extended to the Kingdom of Thailand and to our Embassy throughout my tenure.
Since my arrival by land in March 2026, the generous hospitality from local government agencies, businesses and Kuwaiti friends has enabled me to experience Kuwait through the eyes of those who call this country home. Thanks to this, I have had the privilege to witness a resilient society with strong traditions, sophisticated architectures and robust economy. From the warmth of diwaniyas to casual conversations over Arabic coffee, the fond memories made here will be something I cherish for many years to come.
It has therefore been an honour to serve as a bridge between Kuwait and Thailand. Rooted in rich cultures and shared tradition of hospitality, our two countries have much in common and considerable potential for cooperation, including in support of Kuwait’s Vision 2035. In particular, the deep trust Kuwaitis have placed in our food, tourism and healthcare sectors have made many of the Embassy’s trade promotion activities possible. These include the Bangkok visits of two delegations from Kuwait – one to attend the THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026 trade fair in May and another to attend the Grand Halal Bangkok 2026 in July to explore Thailand’s Halal certification and standard. At the same time, the visits and roadshows of the Thai business delegations to Kuwait in recent years have demonstrated the growing interest of Thai investors in the opportunities Kuwait has to offer.
Although I am leaving Kuwait soon, I do so with confidence that the good momentum in the two countries’ bilateral relations will pave the way for the Embassy to continue exploring areas for collaboration as outlined in the second Thailand-Kuwait Political Consultations in September 2026.
As I bid farewell, I sincerely hope that my Kuwaiti friends will continue to extend to my successor the same friendship and support that you have so generously given to me. It has been a privilege to serve in Kuwait, and I will always look back on my time here with great appreciation.
Thank you.
