On 5 December 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted the National Day reception for the diplomatic corps, high ranking Kuwaiti government officers, private sectors and Thai and foreign guests at the Al-Baraka Ballroom, Crown Plaza Hotel. Around 200 guests attended the reception. The Guest of Honour for the reception is H.E. Ambassador Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs.
At the reception, H.E. Ambassador gave a speech reiterating the importance of 5th of December for Thai people. It is not only the national day but also the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thailand’s Father’s day. The relationship between Thailand and Kuwait dated back since B.E. 2506 for over 50 years, based on good understanding, constructive cooperation, mutual respect and support for each other. Thailand admires Kuwait’s humanitarian contributions and noble role to help address the plight of unfortunate people affected by conflicts as well as untiring efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
At the reception, there is a demonstration of fruits and vegetables carving, Piano and Khim recitals and there is also a selection of Thai delicacies prepared at the food stalls for the guests.
